Time to look back.

 

Well here we are, its December already and only days until the man in the big red suit comes to town.

 

My machines have been  packed up and have headed off to get their yearly nip tuck and oil change. It leaves me thinking about all the beautiful clothes i have created on them, Which in turn gets me thinking about  my wonderful customers.

 

Without you choosing to support my small business my life would be a 9-5 job and my precious baby girl off to daycare everyday. The thought makes me shake and to be honest scares me.

I am a proud stay at home working mumma.

 

I started this year with the dream of growing my business and my dream is coming true every day.

2013 will see me take it to the next level with a few stores lined up to sell my wears in, i will continue to create one off beautiful items made with recycled fabric. I will continue to fill my calender with markets. I will also be selling in my Internet stores alot more than i have.

So its easy to say I plan on next year being HUGE so i hope you stick around and help me grow abit more.

Well here we are and its almost Christmas.

 

 I know what your thinking "Where has 2012 gone" Trust me if i knew i would enlighten you but i cant sorry. Im stumped but i do know one thing, 2012 was a fantastic year for Angel Caprice and its you i need to thank for supporting my small business.

R U OK ??? 2012

R U OK???

 

Today is the one day of the year we ask each other are we ok?

To answer yes im OK

 

NOW but earlier......

I found i was a little lost in my way. I had this beautiful new baby but was never to be the same person again. I went from a full time job that i loved and friends galore to all of sudden at home with a baby and nothing else to fill my time. The hard part (and if you know me) was not talking to adults daily except for poor Daz who i would talk his ear off when he got home from work.

From my experiance i can see how easily it would be to fall into a depression.

 

I found that starting my business saved me from myself and changed my life forever.

 It gave me an outlet that wasnt just mother groups and cafes. 

I will always be grateful for the support i have had while starting my business as Having Angel changed my life for the better. 

 

I guess what im trying to say is its ok to be a different person after you have children and its ok to loose your way while you try to sort out who you are now. Just know that your friends are at the other end of the phone.

 

I hope that today of all days you can reach out if you need to and there is no shame in doing so.

All the Vintage ladies Mini Market night.

The Mini Market night is coming together with suits, Dresses, singlets even a few skirts. This weekend was a big one for the hand made community with Collaborate for a cause so I have decided to change the day of market night. It will now be on Tueday night at 7.30pm.

All the vintage ladies

All the vintage ladies sale night.

Sunday night is the night, I will farwell my vintage lady collection as they start their journey to find new homes.

When i found my first vintage lady sheet i was in hevean and loved her straight away, I think its the memories of a sweet and very happy childhood they stir up.  So its with a heavy heart, I have created many different one off items ready to be sold and find new homes with little girls that love them as much as i do.

The sale will start on Sunday the 28th at 7.30pm.

Market Nights

Facebook has become a wonderful tool for anyone with a small business and im now planning to do a small market night every wednesday night starting tonight.

WHY//..... Every weekend i drive to markets and set up my tent, drag all my stock out and then sit and wait for people to purchase it, If im at home on my couch in my pjs eating ice cream I dont have to go throught the whole set up process. 

This singlet is just one of the items up for sale tonight.

Lets just hope now it works. hahaha

Im thrilled to be in issue 2 of Multiplied magazine. To many its not a big deal but to me it is the start of something new and admitting that my little business may one day be a big business.

Well its nice to dream about the empire i will one day have. Besides if you dont aim high your just selling yourself short. Xx

 I love Easter, I love the chocolate and the long weekend to spend time with my family.

This year we are doing an "Angel Caprice Candy Easter" with bunny singlets, dresses and matching tennis skirts. You can keep up to date with stock on our fac book page and here of course.

Bunting is one of my favorite ways to brighten up a room. This crochet doilie bunting is simply stunning. I am only making them in one offs as doilies are becoming a little harf to find nice ones. I dont want to buy new doilies as that would go against my recyle policie and drive the price right up.

I will be releasing my winter range soon which will feature the lovely Angel Caprice hooded poncho we all loved  so much last year and reversable pinafores. Stay tuned here for some winter fun soon.

My Vision for my little business

My biggest  heartbreak sometimes is saying goodbye to my creations. Every now and then i make something from fabric that truely drives my creativity.

I design all of my patterns and they are inspired by a pattern i have seen in an op shop or inspired by a certain period of time. I have allowed others to influence my patterns in the past and to be honest it just didnt feel right for me. I would make something because someone asked me to not because its what was in my vision. I would sit down to sew and it was lifeless and  not something I loved to do.

I tool my vision back to the begining of Angel Caprice and it felt right and fun again, i am now loving sewing and more than anything I love wrapping my creations in brown paper and ribbon then send them off to their new home.

The above photo is todays suit thats off to a new home to be worn and loved. What I love the most about it is 2 yrs ago it was a piece of fabric in an op shop waiting to be taken home washed and loved again.

My vision for Angel Caprice is simple,  to take old beautiful fabric and turn it into a one of a kind treaure.

lets start at the beggining

Ive said it before and i will say it again my Angel is my MIRACLE. When i was told i couldnt have children I wasnt that upset, i was 22 and didnt really like kids anyway. BUT as i got older i started to see how cute they could be and thought it might have been nice to have a few but my dog was my child and he was all i thought i would be allowed.

The day i found out i was pregnant was the day my life changed forever. I had my last cigarette, stopped having a glass of wine with dinner and tried very hard to clean up my hospitality mouth. Darren changed also with something very gentle creeping into his sole.  We lost Darrens dad in the march of 2007 and our baby was made in november so we both believe we had to loose Ken to get our miracle. Whats the old saying........ When one leaves another comes in his place.

June 2008 i said goodbye to my well paying job bound for 12 months of maternity leave.( which i never returned to)   After 5 weeks of staying home with this adorable little bundle I missed working and started to get a little angry at Daz for having a job and being able to leave the house ALONE. i loved being a mum but needed to be doing something. I would talk the ear off a salesman if they knocked on the door, that kind of bored.

So i started to sew and sew and sew and before i knew it I had a business. The rest is history as they say. Well this is actually just the begging. XX
